All about Playacar
Playacar is an exclusive community set around a beautiful 18 hole golf course, adjacent to the beach to the east and Playa del Carmen town to the north. It is a large community with a pleasing mix of executive residents and holiday visitors. Within Playacar there are some exclusive hotels, villas, condominiums, a bird sanctuary and a small shopping centre.
There are many tranquil areas with rich tropical vegetation - with luck you may spot a toucan or other exotic bird during an evening walk - or in Casa Selva Caribe you may even spot them right by your swimming pool! There are several small mayan ruins in Playacar.

Playacar beaches are just a couple of minutes stroll from your villa; a pleasant walk through a small park and past some ancient Maya ruins:

Aviary:
The Playacar aviary or bird park is just a few metres from Casa Selva Caribe, or 2/3 minutes walk from Casa Vela. It is an area of jungle with just one or two netted areas and has tropical birds native to the Yucatan. Either enjoy a walk of about an hour to make sure you do not miss anything - or just watch from the front of your villa!
